ROTARIAN PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Acceptance Speech for Rotary Club of Accra Airport Presidency

Rotarian President Kojo

Rotary Year 2025-2026

Good evening, DG, PDGs, fellow Rotarians, distinguished guests, friends and family.

Let me start by thanking God for this day and how far He has brought me and to my wife  Vesta and family for the encouragement and support they have given me on my Rotary journey. I never envisioned this day when I joined Rotary but thanks to the leadership opportunities that Rotary offers, today I stand before you as your incoming President.

It is both an honor and a privilege to stand before you today as the President of the Rotary Club of Accra Airport. I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me, and I accept this responsibility with humility, enthusiasm, and a steadfast commitment to our shared mission of “Service Above Self”.

This Rotary year, under the inspiring theme “Unite for Good”, we are called to harness the power of unity—to combine our diverse talents, passions, and resources to create lasting change in our communities and beyond. My personal vision for our club aligns perfectly with this theme: “to build an enthusiastic and engaged club that is united for good”.

Our Collective Strength

Our club is a vibrant tapestry of members spanning generations—from dynamic young professionals in their 30s to seasoned leaders in their 60s and beyond. This diversity is our superpower. Each of us brings unique perspectives, skills, and energy to the table. Together, we can achieve far more than we ever could alone. And this is what we are going to harness to achieve the three pillars of my vision;

Three Pillars of My Vision

1.Engagement & Fellowship

   - We will foster a culture of inclusivity, where every member feels valued and motivated to participate.

   - Through creative meetings, social events, and hands-on projects, we’ll strengthen our bonds and reignite the Rotary spirit.

2.Impactful Service

   - Guided by Rotary’s Areas of Focus, we’ll prioritize projects that address pressing needs in Accra and beyond—whether in education, health, economic development, or peacebuilding.

   - I encourage each of you to share your ideas and passions. Let’s champion initiatives that resonate with our club’s collective heart and mirrors the goals set by the District and RI.

3.Growth & Innovation

   - We’ll embrace new strategies to attract and retain members, especially younger professionals who bring fresh energy.

   - Leveraging technology and partnerships, we’ll amplify our reach and tell our Rotary story with pride.

I appreciate the fact that this will not be an easy task and there are bound to be some misunderstandings and frictions as we journey along as a human institution but I humbly ask for your patience and pardon in advance cause they are not intentional.

A Call to Action

“Unite for Good” is not just a slogan—it’s a call to action. I challenge each of you to:

- Show up — not just in body, but in spirit and purpose.

- Speak up — share your ideas, your concerns, and your dreams for our club.

- Step up — take ownership of a project, mentor a new member, or invite a friend to experience Rotary.

Gratitude & Commitment

To our outgoing board led by our Magical President Rtn. Alice, thank you for your excellent leadership and for paving the way for this new chapter. To my incoming board and committee chairs, I look forward to working alongside you—this will be a team effort in every sense. Remember we are “United for Good”

Finally, to every Rotarian here: You are the heartbeat of this club. Together, let’s make this a year of joy, impact, and unity. Let’s laugh often, serve passionately, and remind our community why Rotary is Good.

I am excited to embark on this journey with you. Let’s unite for good—and let’s make it unforgettable!

Thank you, and may we all have a Rotary year filled with purpose and fellowship.
